I have a couple of observations about the movie and I noticed one mistake.
First the mistake. At one point in the movie Tom Cruise's character puts an old vinyl record on a turntable. He sets the needle down to play the first song on the LP. It's Ramble On by Led Zeppelin. That song is on the second Led Zeppelin album and the error is that Ramble On is not the first song on the record (on either side).
Overall it was a fun movie but not something I would see again.
If you want to read my other thoughts (spoilers) just click to continue:
At the point where Jake Harper 49 and Julia crash land and Jake runs up the sand dune to see another plane fly overhead I knew it would be another Jake Harper and that we were dealing with clones.
To me that was a let down in the sense that it kind of invalidates the main character. You are still rooting for him, but he's not what you supposed.
I also figured out very early that the "good guys" were actually the bad guys and the Scavs were really the good guys. I just wasn't sure how Jake Harper was going to figure it out.
I think we are to assume form the ending that Jake Harper 52 was the last remaining clone. But I wonder what happened to Jake 50 and 51; not to mention Jake 1 - 48. I'm guessing that when their tour of duty was up (Victoria kept reminding Jake that they only had 2 more weeks) that they were destroyed and replaced. Why? Do the clones somehow expire and need to be replaced with a fresh set? If so, why is Jake 52 still alive 3 years after the destruction of the alien ship?
